Many people ask us if they can exclude certain debts. Uh and that often happens when uh someone may have a a particular desire to pay just continue paying one particular creditor as opposed to others. You know, maybe it’s just uh they feel like they were treated really well by that creditor, have some type of emotional connection there. Uh there can be a lot of different reasons, but unfortunately, no, it’s not a pick and choose system. Uh all the debts have to be treated equally and they all need to be listed.

Now, once your case is complete and you’ve receive your what’s called the discharge from the court, which means it’s uh approved and and successfully completed, nothing bars you from going back and continuing to pay that creditor at that point. Although there’s really no legal reason uh that that you would do that, but some people do choose to to uh to to do that. But uh unfortunately, no, you can’t pick and choose. All creditors do need to be listed.
